Driven into the club’s Carrington training ground in a black Mercedes, having played his part in Brazil‘s 2-0 win over Croatia at Anfield on Sunday, Fred is close to becoming the club’s first summer signing.

‘This is inevitable when we’re meeting up in the summer,’ said Tite.
‘Players are always thinking of their careers. What you say is Please resolve it as soon as possible so we can get them focused back on the task in hand with the national team. If I was a club manager, I would be looking to sign him.’
Fred has won 10 trophies since joining Shakhtar Donetsk from Internacional in 2013, including three Ukrainian top-flight titles.
He is expected to play a big role for Brazil in this summer’s tournament as they prepare to take on Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E.

Brazil team-mate Gabriel Jesus hinted Fred is closing in on a move to Manchester United
And for Mourinho, he wants his first signing secured before Russia so the price cannot sky-rocket if he performs well.
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus was non-committal when quizzed on Fred’s future.
‘Fred’s future? We thought he was going to Manchester City but now I can’t say anything,’ Jesus said.
‘It’s something up to him. If he joins United I can’t root for his team, but I will root for him on an individual basis.’
